Gaza crossings: movement of people and goods

Longstanding restrictions on the movement of people and goods to and from Gaza have undermined the living conditions of 1.9 million Palestinians in Gaza. Many of the current restrictions, originally imposed in the early 1990s, were intensified in June 2007, following the Hamas takeover of Gaza and the imposition of a blockade by Israel.

Following are four that illustrate, interactively, the movement of people and goods through the Gaza crossing points with Israel and Egypt over time.

These infographics are updated on a regular basis to provide decision makers, humanitarian actors and the general public with an overview of current and past access trends impacting the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
